The third season of the Oceanic Esports Dota League will be headlining the exciting lineup of events we have in store for Oceania’s finest next year.
In preparation for the much-awaited spectacle, all ten designated captains have gathered last night to draft their players and finalize the lineup of teams that will be competing not only for the lion’s share of the $25,000 prize pot and the prestige of being crowned as champions, but as well as one of the spots for the inaugural OEL SEA/ANZ Invitational.
In addition to the increased stakes, OEDL Season 3 will also implement a new position called “understudy”. Players recruited under this position may act as a substitute for their respective teams and will be removed from the open sub-pool. Some teams have utilized this addition entering the new season.
Without further ado, meet your Oceanic Esports Dota League Season 3 teams!
- Spag (Captain)
The team that finished third place last season looks to remain in good shape with Spag replicating his formula for success by forming a roster composed of established veterans and promising rookies.
Old N’ Bad
- Splicko (Captain)
- Kage.S (Understudy)
The captain of last season’s champion, appeared to have his hands taken off of leadership duties to join Splicko’s team under. With the weight of the names making up this roster, Ly might be on track for his second-straight championship title.
- TEKCOR (Captain)
From the ashes of last season’s C’s Better rises a promising squad filled with OEDL mainstays. Something new, however, will still be in effect for this squad as they will be led by a debutant captain, TEKCOR.
- Kouros1ve (Captain)
- High Tech
The prior season has been tough for Shadownet after failing to make it past the group stages. With the reunion of Kouros1ve and GACHI, two-fifths of the squad that claimed the inaugural OEDL championship title, this team looks to turn things around.
- Andros (Captain)
- Nine (Understudy)
Andros is back for season three with defending champion Magic, Cloudy, and two of his most trusted players from last season’s NoBKB. Will their foray this time produce a better result than their last?
- Ygod (Captain)
Ygod’s former team still has a couple of room for improvements that can be applied this season. Will the addition of two youngbloods in Xunmail and guys? surpass Bokebi’s 5th place finish from last season?
Your Soul Is Mine
- Masiwei (Captain)
After spending two seasons under Ygod’s captainship, Masiwei will now head a team composed of former Your Soul is Mine players. A tall order of bringing his squad in this playoffs is already set for the first-time captain as the majority of his members have failed to qualify last season.
- Fury (Captain)
Fury ended his campaign last season on a rather sour after being a couple of games short of qualifying past the group stages. Now that he’s back to lead a brand-new pack, will Sincerely Fury be able to mount a playoff comeback?
- Hypeman (Captain)
If there’s one team you should keep an eye on this upcoming tournament, it’s definitely Hypeman’s. Save for their rookie, Libertango, this team is featuring four podium finishers from last season. With Sylvos also acting as their understudy, we should expect nothing short of amazing for this squad.
Good Game No Remorse
- Godot (Captain)
Godot, one of the most established players Australia has ever produced, will now lead his own team for the OEDL Season 3. Considering his international success, Good Game No Remorse may be a solid medium to remind us what he’s capable of.
The Oceanic Esports Dota League Season 3 is set to begin in early February 2021.
